Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati rice rinsed and drained
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red food coloring optional
  • 1 teaspoon Green food coloring optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. 2. In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add the rice, ghee, and salt. Stir well.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked.
  4. 4. Divide the cooked rice into three portions. Mix one portion with turmeric powder, another with red food coloring, and the last with green food coloring.
  5. 5. Gently mix the colored rice together to create a rainbow effect. Serve warm.
