Nasi Tomato Recipe (Tomato Flavoured Rice)

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Basmati rice
- 2 tablespoon Ghee or butter
- 1 cup Tomato puree
- 1 cup Chicken broth
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 inch Ginger, minced
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 2 Star anise
- 4 Cloves
- 1 cup Water
- to taste Salt
1. Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat ghee or butter in a pan. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
3. Add cinnamon stick, star anise, and cloves. Stir for a minute.
4. Add tomato puree and cook for 2-3 minutes.
5. Add the rinsed rice, chicken broth, and water. Stir well and bring to a boil.
6. Transfer the mixture to a rice cooker. Cook until the rice is done.
7. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
