Rendang Daging Recipe (Beef Rendang)

Main Ingredients
- 1 kg Beef (cut into chunks)
- 400 ml Coconut Milk
- 2 stalks Lemongrass (bruised)
- 4 leaves Kaffir Lime Leaves
- 2 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
- 2 tablespoon Palm Sugar
- to taste Salt
Spice Paste
- 6 cloves Garlic
- 10 Shallots
- 5 Red Chilies
- 2 inches Ginger
- 2 inches Galangal
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
1. Blend all the spice paste ingredients until smooth.
2. In a large pot, heat some oil and fry the spice paste until fragrant.
3. Add the beef and cook until it changes color.
4. Pour in the coconut milk, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, tamarind paste, and palm sugar. Stir well.
5. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
6. Season with salt to taste. Serve hot.
